Didn't really have much experience with gatcha games before this, I did play Honkai Star Rail and Blue Archive before but not for long, but I saw this was hugely popular upon release and decided to try it, and thank goodness I did because not only is the whole concept of horses turned anime girls is a really interesting, the way they bring the real life stories into the game is very VERY well done. I had zero knowledge of horse racing before this game, but I know quite a bit more about it now and especially the history of many horses, and I think it's very cool, it even got to the point of me visiting the real life counterparts in Japan lol.

Favourite Uma

Cheval Grand

I came across this uma while scrolling through Instagram, if I remember correctly, the song was "Umasugi! Gourmet Parade" and I absolutely fell in love with her race design.

I am a sucker for characters wearing uniforms, not to mention anything with the color blue, and Cheval Grand's navy (?) uniform along with the blue accent fits perfectly into my liking. I also loved her voice, it wasnt so annoyingly high pitched like most of the other umas (no offence), and her voice actually sounds nice to listen to.

She kept appearing on my feed, and the more I watched the more I fell in love with her character, her personality is also rather unique (i think), she has a shy tomboy-ish character which is right up my alley.

I was just about to start Umamusme Season 3 so timing could not be more perfect, and I found her story very interesting too. I won't say any spoilers but lets just say she might be an under-horse get it get it ?

Timing could once again not be any more perfect as I was going on a trip to Hokkaido, Japan not long after, and found out that the real life Cheval Grand was staying at Northern Horse Park, which I immediately bough tickets to. I unfortunately could not make it in time for the Umamusume x Northern Horse Park collab as I was departing early by ONE DAY... I did have a good time there and meeting the other horses too, highly recommend to visit and it's easily accessible even without a car!

I hope Cheval Grand is having a nice retirement in Northern Horse Park.

Admire Vega -- Chill vibes, loves astronomy, interesting personality and story.

Seiun Sky -- Would go on a fishing trip with her and chill at a river bank.

Aston Machan -- Just adorable and not to be forgotten.

Eishin Flash -- Would really like to try her home-made German snacks, they sound interesting.

Air Shakur -- Computer savy with and good general knowledge, would love to have a convo with her.

Hishi Amazon -- She would probably be funny af as a friend, I like spicy food too.

Ikuno Dictus -- I can be a little like her at times, I think we would get along well.

Katsuragi Ace -- I don't know much about her but I do love her design a lot, especially that coat.

Nakayama Festa -- Also dk much about her (other than her gambling addiction) but her design is very cool.

Sirius Symboli -- "Puppy-chan".

Stay Gold -- Small dad, think she would be a goofy friend, might have good travel destination recommendations.

Transcend -- Tech-savy and definitely a cool friend to have. Love her bright color pallete.

Verxina -- Beautifuly designed mother material.

Victoire Pisa -- Also dk much about her, but she looks gorgeous in her race outfit.

Wonder Acute -- She would be nice to talk to if you had a rough day. A peaceful 'ol grandma.
